The Process We Follow To Ensure Every Step Is Completed Perfectly So You Get The Exact Home You Want – On Schedule And Budget
With the rise in popularity of TV renovation shows, many people underestimate the complexity of extending and renovating their home. It’s amazing what two people appear to accomplish in one 60-minute episode. But what viewers rarely see is the teams of people working in the background to plan, supply, and execute the renovation. And instead, we see what the producers of the show want us to see: entertainment.
Extending or renovating a home is a serious project involving a significant investment of time and money. So you need to be sure your builder has the skills, experience, and systems to get the job done. That’s right – the systems. Just like an experienced pilot follows strict systems to ensure a safe and successful flight, your builder must follow a proven process to ensure your home is finished to the correct scope, on schedule and on budget.

When you call, you’ll speak with Jake. He will ask you some general questions about your project including details about your site, design ideas, level of finish, and timeframes. To help you gain more clarity around these details, Jake will send you our Initial Enquiry Questionnaire.Jake will also schedule a time for your Free Discovery Call with one of our Project Managers as well as Jake. If you have any questions, we will make a note of these for further exploration and to answer during your Discovery Call.01
Discovery Call
During this guided session, Jake will answer your questions and help you clarify your ideas, understand potential roadblocks, discuss budgets, and explain how we may be able to help you get the outcome you want. Whether you’re ready to build or still in the planning stage, this session will save you weeks of research and potential mistakes. And it’s completely free and without obligation.02Site Visit
Jake will meet you onsite to further understand your vision and carry out a thorough assessment of your property. He will either validate your plans or suggest alternative design ideas and building methods that will suit your site better. He will explain the complete building process from approvals to handover. And he will provide a Preliminary Agreement with the option to secure a timeframe to begin your build.03Preliminary Agreement And Concept Plan
A deposit will secure our services and engage our architect to produce a concept design. Depending on the project we may also engage other professional services to conduct a Site Survey and Soil Test. And we will carry out general scoping so we can provide you with an indicative budget.04Refined Design
This is when you see your ideas fleshed out on paper. We’ll help you finalise your plan and select your finishes, fixtures, and fittings. We’ll arrange Working Drawings, Structural Engineering, Council Approvals, and Certification so we can give you a Final Quote. With the balance of the Preliminary Agreement paid, we will prepare a detailed Contract ready for building to begin.05Agreement
Unlike other contracts that are short and scant on detail (leading to misunderstandings, conflicts, and disappointments down the track), our contract is long and detailed. But don’t worry, we’ll go through every line so you know exactly what you’re getting. Upon deposit, we will schedule your project including supplies and labour.06Construction
This is where your plans start to become reality beginning with site preparation, demolition, structural building (frame), envelope (exterior of house), services (plumbing and electrical), internal finishes (walls, cabinets, tiles, etc.), and landscaping. With all work completed your services will be turned on (power and water) and we will conduct a comprehensive Quality Assurance Review to ensure everything is perfect.07Handover
A final inspection and formal certification ensures everything has been completed according to the plan. Now it’s your turn to go over everything with a magnifying glass (literally). We will walk you through every aspect of your home to ensure you are completely delighted. If you notice anything (and I mean anything) that is not exactly as you expected, we will rectify it immediately. We will provide you with all manuals and documentation and give you the keys. We will provide you with an ongoing Inspection Sheet so you can jot down anything you notice as you’re living in your new home, and we will return after 3 months to check and correct anything that needs fine tuning. And we will be available to support you for as long as you live in your home.08Strength and durability
